I already wish I had started more flowers, I was so busy concentrating on my vegetables and not growing too much that I missed an opportunity to have more flowers this year.
I know I need to stop putting so much pressure on myself and this is just the first summer we are in our garden but I have some grand plans and disappointment. On the plus side, because our garden is so old and established the garden didn’t get a water during the drought and all the flowers are doing well.
I have been blessed by a lot of incredible plants, roses, daylilies, daisies, magnolia trees, lilacs.

I have been paying attention to my rockery which I hope to turn into a wild cottage garden space. I planted out my lupins, delphiniums, cosmos, snapdragons, salvias, erigeron, hollyhocks and daisies. Some are flowering, some have been eaten and some are just tiny green leaves.
Gardeners wait all year for summer and now is the constant maintenance, weeding and feeding and daily watering. And planning. My favourite thing!
