Grateful moments

We went to York during a heatwave.

It was 5 degrees cooler up north and we could not have been happier.

Is anything more impressive than a breeze?

When it’s hot and the coolest breeze wends it’s way through the streets to you. It makes you pause, makes you appreciate and most importantly gives you a reprieve for a moment.

There is nothing more impressive than a much needed breeze.

Shade and the thoughtfulness of trees

York is an incredible city with narrow shaded streets and pockets of sun. Trees are everywhere and the wisdom of those who planted them doesn’t go unnoticed during hot weather. We clamoured through the streets hunting shade and taking paths painted in shades of grey.

We are not sun worshippers

Cold drinks and shandies

I love a shandy . Perfect drink on a hot day. lemonade and beer always served ice cold. It reminds me of distant holidays and moments of laughter.

The beauty of this country

As I wander medieval streets and discover different incredible architecture made to last I am filled with gratitude. That someone had such vision to create a city so beautiful.

That bridges are dotted with turrets and castle walls circle the inhabitants, parks trees and green spaces. That we walk the paths that Vikings and romans marches.

We are lucky here.

I am also lucky to be sharing this moment with my husband.

So tell the people you love you love them, and check your stool it may save your life!
