My allotment has been a true escape, a place I can delve into for a few minutes or a few hours. tidying up, weeding, trimming collecting. All the clearing and filling and digging was worth it.
Because it’s harvest time.

I am now collecting potato’s, tomatoes and courgettes every other day. I have planted more potatoes and they let me know when they are ready to harvest.
The tomatoes are incredible and I am going to scoop a big trug of them tomorrow and make a home made pasta source.
I have two courgette plants that have been giving me non stop courgettes so much so that I didn’t see a few of them and they are now huge marrows which I stuffed and baked.
Collecting is really joyful and I get surprised every time I go into the allotment.
I have big plans for next year. I will start earlier and plant out sooner. But there are all lessons learned.

We do need some warmer day to help my pumpkins and runner beans but I am so grateful for this years harvest.
So get outside in the sunshine.
Pound the streets in the rain.
Notice the trees turning gold.
And plan to grow something to eat on your windowsill or garden. The satisfaction is incredible.
Tell the people you love, you love them. Check your stool it may save your life.
