We recently spent two wonderful weeks at home, in the Seychelles. Swimming eating and relaxing. We spent time with family and we both needed after the year that we had.
It was bliss.
While we were away we arranged for the house to be emptied so the electricians could come in. We also had a chimney man come in to prepare our chimney for a stove to be put in.
It was a messy job.
Dust everywhere.
Steve our electrician said it was a fire waiting to happen. A death trap.
Lamps were directly wired into the mains and cables crumbled in their hands.
Part one is all done now.
Now we are trying to make upstairs liveable but it will probably be like this until after Christmas it we are getting used to it.
Electrics are expensive but essential, at least we are safe and have light. Now to strip the walls and get them plastered and painted.
We can see some old writing from Gavin’s Grandad and he left a helpful note saying that we need nine and half rolls of wall paper to cover the hall!

We are starting to scrape back to the bones of the house and it’s pretty wonderful and extremely messy!
It’s not really phasing us at the moment.
It will be a strange Christmas in this house it’s a short but sweet update from me.
So tell the ones you love, you love them and check your still it may save your life.
