A trip to the Garden centre

My favorite way to spend the day!

A heavenly day at the garden centre. We headed to battlesbridge first to wonder around and take a peak at the antiques. It’s fairly dog friendly there so we went for a nice walk and then had a couple of pints. It’s a quintessential English village with duck crossing, old wooden building and lots of green. The tiny streets are crammed with quaint cottages and it’s a wonderful day trip there alone. But the garden centre was calling and this was a large one.

I had four plants on my list. Nemesia, bacopa, tomato and sagafraxi. I may have bought my favourite pelegorum which I have been lusting after for years, some nepeta, geraniums ( that I put back twice and ended up with 4), lemon thyme and two pretty flowers that were discounted to a pound each which I couldn’t resist.

Way more than the four I had planned to buy and much more than I intended to spend but I don’t care. I am going to recreate the window box I fell in love with in my urn at the front of the house. There was the most incredible geum that I wanted but as I am growing some from seed it can wait. I am very jealous of people who can just go and buy as many plants as they want!

Planning

I am aware that these plants are going to double in size but at the same time I want it nice and full. I also have some baby gladiolus growing so it may be the most incredible urn. I topped it with Miracle Grow last week and I will water with some blood and bone to give it some well needed nutrients. If it get too big I will dig them out and move them. I potted all my geraniums separately so they will grow nice and full of the summer so hopefully my door step will look pretty even if my back garden is a complete mess.

A trip to the garden centre is quickly followed by a morning spent in the garden.

My favourite way to spend the day, we stopped for beers and lunch and Frank had a really nice walk around.
