I work for a local council

What do you do to be involved in the community?

Working for a local council in my community has really opened my eyes up to both sides. I am constantly shocked by people’s expectations of what the council do, how peoples lack of community means that they litter, flytip and demand services without so much realising that they are also part of the issue.

My community hates Ulez and Khan and support people cutting down the Ulez cameras, then wonder why the borough have no money to fix other things. They support damaging council property but what the council to fix everything. I agree with none of this. I do understand how Ulez has affected lots of people, cars are expensive, but you don’t have to drive. Living in London means we have great transport. I also support the Mayor and I am really glad he won again.

I truely believe that only unhappy people are spiteful, angry and hateful. For if they were happy they wouldn’t want other to suffer, would be more considerate and kinder.

So my belief wrongly or rightly is that is we were all kinder to one another then we would have a better community, it would be safer and more supportive.

So I don’t do a lot, except work in my community but I do try to be kind and considerate.
