The builder arrived: goodbye garden, hello mess.

My garden is in bloom

The builder he arrived, he worked for two hours and then left. He did move my lilac tree which I am thrilled about. It still may go into shock so I need to give it a couple of years before it is back to full health.

Last years tulips were planted in the rockery and are now blooming. That was exciting to find. I do have to do a lot of weeding to do mainly pulling out all the grass and the green alkanet with is overflowing but creating a lovely habitat. My rockery is filled with birds bees and butterflies, lots of slugs and snails too.

My lettuce

My kitchen garden/ allotment is thriving. I will be harvesting a lot of this lettuce to have fresh salad to eat for the next few days.

I also have potatoes popping up everywhere. I am going to have to dig my pumpkin patch soon as it’s getting warm enough to plant out and they are going to spread their roots.

I have taken some dahlia cuttings and a Russian spire cutting as well as lots of rosemary as that has died.

Gardening is constant.

And very rewarding.

Enjoy your weekend.
