What does “having it all” mean to you? Is it attainable?
This is all I want in life
- I want my family to be healthy
- I want my friends to live long happy lives
- I want my 3 bed terrace house to be completely renovated
- I want my allotment to be fruitful
- I want my garden to be beautiful and full of wildlife
- I want my front yard to be a thing of beauty
- I want to host Christmas in my home
- I want to host Halloween in my home
- I want my studio to be a place of work and creativity and maybe a library
- I never want to work weekend
- I want to have a cleaner help me around the house
- I want to spend my time with family and friends and relaxing
- I need to have enough money in the bank that I am not living paycheque to paycheque.
- I want savings
- I want to travel the world!
Okay that sounds like having it all to me. I have never wanted to be super rich, it sounds boring.
Everything on this list is attainable but it also means me putting in a lot of work.
The gardens are all me. I need Gavin to step up and take over the lawn because four gardens is a lot of work! But the rest I think I can manage. I am going to start clearing some of the allotment and resourcing some of the earth for my raised bed. I also need to plant some lettuce and radish as they need harvesting soon.
A long life with my husband is all about our health, watching what we eat and doing exercise if we don’t start now we may not make it to 60.
To save more money I need to earn more. I like my job and my team, hopefully my apprenticeship with them will open some doors.
The house will hopefully be finished this year. We may be away for Christmas but next Christmas we would like to host even if it just my family.
The studios will be a long term thing. It may even be cheaper to tear it down and start again as the plot is massive and that way we could maybe put a toilet and shower up there ( it already has a sink, you never know.
My wants and desires maybe a lot for some people but for me it’s just right. I don’t need fancy cars, interiors updated constantly, I don’t need flashy holiday flying first class ( would be nice but not an essential) .
I want to enjoy my life. That doesn’t mean working like a dog to achieve it.
