Trust and communication

What quality do you value most in a builder?

Wow I am struggling to write this post. My builder was a not so great a choice. we are constantly chasing him and we are now at the point where we may not want to continue with him.

He lies.

He mentioned that the plans had changed when they hadn’t.

He told me he told the labourers when to put the soil and he didn’t. He said it would be removed and he didn’t even contact them.

Apparently he is good.

But he isn’t as trustworthy as I would like.

So I beg you, make sure you pay for the job and not the hours. Make sure they give you a time line that they can stick to, life happens, things happen.

We are having our foundations put in and the building inspector is happy so maybe it will go a bit smoother, but we will see.

References are key. Our builder who we love, recommended him and even he is embarrassed but Pat is the one pushing things forward. Pat is great.

Our main builder not so bad.

Trust and communication are key.
