Okay.

A thousand splendid suns. Broke my heart. Beautiful book that taught me about Afghanistan and the women who live there. I loved this book, it taught me a lot. But, I must admit. I stopped reading just before the end. I do not know how this book ends. I didn’t want the Taliban to destroy her after all she had been through. so I left her happy in the book. That’s how much it moved me. How much it affected me. I couldn’t bare any more of her suffering.

After you’d gone………..

This is a book to make you believe in love and then rip it out of your chest. It’s brutal it’s beautiful, I wept for chapters. This book is incredible, beautiful writing and flawed characters. This is a story of loss and grief, the clue is in the title.

Read it.

Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein….

A story of a man’s obsession, what he was prepared to give up and put aside. This is a love story. This is a book about brilliance and ambition, obsession. A story about a son who is doesn’t understand his creation and seeks love and acceptance.

It is heart breaking on all sides.

Frankenstein is the monster but can he be forgiven.

On reflection it turns out I love a book about love, loss and grief. I find these books so inspiring. All are beautifully written all transport you to different places.
