Growing flowers and veg brings me the utmost joy

What’s your favorite thing about your garden?

I finally attempted to tidy the allotment. I just had a few hours and it still looks a complete rip but I tackled some jobs.

I planted the runner beans out, knowing full well the canes aren’t tall enough. But they need to go out. My peas are flowering so soon we will have produce.

The most exciting is my garlic. It’s almost ready to harvest. I dug down and saw it’s a good size! I have about six of them. So I will plant some more and get it going. They are beautiful.

So much joy.

My brambles and raspberry are starting to fruit. Their flowers are turning into strange alien green beads so next month we can expect fruit. I have just learnt that I can brew bramble leaves, so I am going to collect some. Dry them and drink them.

My beautiful apple trees that I wrestled from the brambles and weeds flowered and are now full of apples. This thrills me so much because they were struggling so much and the tiny middle one had no light and now, after a lot of rain and a bit of sunshine.

My courgettes and pumpkins spent their first night outside and the slugs stayed away.

I was so scared they would be destroyed but I am still not brave enough to plant them outside incase they are destroyed.

I can’t wait for the house to be done because then I can work on the garden and get that beautiful as well.
