I got to hug my dad, my friends and family out in Mahé Seychelles, it’s been a very long time. It’s nice to be home, even if it just for two weeks.
It was stressful getting here. My husband tested positive to covid so I had to move out with my mum for five days before. I was stressed and had a headache for a solid week. My test came back negative so I was allowed to fly, I was just by myself. We flew with Emirates so they were great and extended his ticket so I will come out again with him probably next year.
He missed his sisters wedding.
I miss him so much. It is so beautiful here and I often catch myself thinking he should be here, seeing this, tasting this, enjoying this.
It all about how you look at things, perspective is key. I am lucky and grateful to be on this beautiful island, surrounded by friends and family. I get to see my dad every day, for two whole weeks. I get to eat kreole food and have fresh fish almost every day.
I get to dip my toes in the Indian Ocean and swim till my arms ache.
I get to lie on the whitest sand and collect sea shells I never intend to take home. I get to look at all the tropical plants and wonder if they would grow in my English garden or would they prefer to grow inside.
I get to be warm everyday for two weeks. I am happy and I am sad. I made it to the Seychelles but it’s all about perspective.
