A little cancer update

Gav is doing well. They cut out the 6cm tumour and he doesn’t need chemo.

This is everything.

This means shorter recovery time.

But we aren’t counting our chickens. The last few weeks haven’t been easy. He has lost over 2.5 stone, approximately 16kilos in 5 weeks. He has lost weight off his belly and face.

He still can’t go out for long periods. Even short walks exert too much energy. Naps and resting happen everyday. Healing is a long boring uncomfortable process and I know he feels trapped and useless, which is hard to watch.

He has another few months of healing and then it’s onto surgery number two. This will be really difficult and painful for him. I will have to take some time off to take care of him when he is out of hospital. Then it will be one day at a time.

That’s all we have got.

So tell the people you care about you love them and check your stool!
