Cosmos are one of my favourite flowers!
Yesterday I sowed some of my prized seeds. When I was on Facebook a member was recommending some cosmos tips. It turns out he grows them professionally and shows at Hampton Court and Chelsea, he wasn’t even trying to sell his seeds, but I enquired and bought the most incredible cosmos I have ever found.
I sowed 12 seeds and I really hope they all grow, you can sow them indoors now or outdoors next month. I prefer to grow plants and plant them out rather than direct sow seeds. With the exception of poppies which I direct sow. I prefer the controll of knowing they have a chance before the slugs and snails attack. These cosmos are so incredible. You don’t get that many seeds so I have put my hopes on these three pots, I will obviously collect lots of seeds from them that grow.
My sister said to sow them when it’s warm enough to wear a T-shirt. Well it’s definitely warm enough.
Hopefully I am off to the garden centre on today. I may buy a tomato plant as I am anxious about my seedlings but I am definitely going hunting for some Nemesia and maybe bacopa we will see if I can find any.
My Sweetpeas and peas can go out in the garden this weekend as they are growing and need the root space. I love Sweetpeas too, but last year they weren’t so great but I am putting them out now rather than waiting too long.
Hopefully we will have a great summer for the garden!
