Gardening is such mindful therapy

Do what’s good for you.

I got up early and went to the supermarket in the snow, it was sleet when I left and snow when I came back home, it was pure magic. I loved it.

We had bacon bagels for breakfast and Gav suggested we don’t have lunch- so I had a whole hour to myself. After a failed walk with Frank, he said it was too cold and stopped walking.

I decided to tidy up my porch. Moving my dahlia bulbs out of the soil so they don’t rot. The soil was really good, filled with worms so I planted my tulip bulbs. I said no more tulips but these were cheap and beautiful Tulip Triumph Ronaldo.

I potted up 3 pots and smartened up the rest. I put the chopped off plants and leaves I found in a pot to let them rot down and covered it up. My porch is surrounded by a remnants of a building site but it looks much better.

My mind feels great,

My back aches,

It’s the sense of achievement that is wonderful and the peace of mind.

Gardening is therapy, hands in the earth, focus on the work. It brings me such joy I should do it more often.

  1. I always find it comforting to see something sprout from seeds (I have loads of different seeds waiting to be planted next year).

Devastating when an evil neighbour uproots your plant, though, especially when it has been peacefully living in the ground for three years.

      1. I know that feeling. I was very upset! I managed to rescue it and put it in a pot. It’s a delight to see its pink flowers in spring. Smells very nice too.. thyme it is
