When you are on holiday it’s difficult to choose the right restaurant. Can we trust social media? Can we even trust reviews? Everyone’s taste is different.
On our first night in Marrakesh a friend recommended a place, Morocco is a fairly dry country so finding a beer isn’t the easiest and all we wanted was a nice cold pint to relax. So we went to this place and it was truly beautiful. There was a hint of a singer, she left after one song) palm trees, gorgeous tiles everywhere. We had hummus and beer and decided to stay for food.
We shouldn’t have.
It wasn’t great.
The wine we ordered was bad and the beef felt like it was just crap pub food. We were tired and disappointed but felt like it was a good place to have a beer. It was central and really stunning.
So we came back the next day.

I ordered us two beers.
Nothing
Becky ordered us two beers and eventually they came.
Then she ordered another.
Nothing.
Then a fight broke out between the waiters.
Two women alone on a rooftop, you can imagine how uncomfortable we felt. Especially as they were arguing infront of the stairs.
Becky chased her beer and then we left to meander the souls and head home for a break.
So take recommendations with a pinch of salt.
It was a nice place for a beer but I wouldn’t eat there.
Luckily our next few places were delicious! It’s hard finding places when you have never been there before but you do just have to take the leap.
