March is sowing time: day 6 no social media

We got up this morning, made bacon sandwiches ( giving up pork is very slow to happen) and I went straight out to the garden. With all the renovations we have a lot of cardboard which is a great tool in the garden. My allotment is still a mess, just like my garden, green house…

Day 5 of no social media

We got up and left the house for a coffee, Frank joined us so it would be a nice little dog walk. Our local coffee shop serves excellent coffee and is dog friendly, I tried a different donut ( riveting stuff hu) and then we went to our local butchers to buy some steak. They…

Day four of no social media and I feel nice and focused.

I do. I hit lots of work targets this week. I feel focused and good. I learned a lot also I noticed that I have written way more blogs this week than I have all year. So no social media is really helping. When I watch tv I focus on what I am watching. Without…

Day one of no social media

It’s day one. No social media but I probably spent the same amount of time looking at my phone as I would normally which shows that my social media addiction is a terrible habit even when it’s not there. So I am going to see how tomorrow goes. I am hoping to improve, even if…

Deleting my social media

I haven’t been thinking about this very long but maybe I should delete my apps. Instagram feels dead in the water And although I learn and enjoy TikTok is it too addictive. Would I spend more of my time reading than lusting over books? If I did, I would have to get rid of both.…

8 goals for the new year

I love creating goals and working towards them. Nothing is quite like using the end of the year to focus on yourself and your loved ones so I thought I would share my goals. 1. Work focus Next year I start an apprenticeship alongside my job. My work are paying for it and I really…

Planning permission has been submitted!

We are building an extension, it is going to happen but we had to put in planning permission. We didn’t go down the root of an architect. Wrongly or rightly we knew what we wanted didn’t feel the need to get anyone’s input. We did hire a draughtsmen surveyor who can make technical drawings and…

Taking advantage of the colder days

This time of year is pure magic. I love the rain, but only when I have time to appreciate it and dress for it appropriately. My garden is sodden and boggy. Mud sticks to my boots and leaves go from crispy sculptures to slimy death traps. I spend a few minutes each day rescuing bulbs…
