I learned that social media is the biggest trap

What is the last thing you learned? I know it’s only been a week of no social media, mainly Instagram, Facebook ( yes I am a millennial, I loved my log burner and gardening group) and the biggest time waster I loved, TikTok. I haven’t been spending my evenings on my phone. Except for writing…

Can I make a scale model of the house?

So 20 odd years ago I did train in theatre design, making scale models of theatres and productions but that was so long ago. I know I have the knowledge, just not sure if I have the skills. I ordered some foam board, metal rulers ( I collect rulers), a scale ruler, scalpel and blades,…

March is sowing time: day 6 no social media

We got up this morning, made bacon sandwiches ( giving up pork is very slow to happen) and I went straight out to the garden. With all the renovations we have a lot of cardboard which is a great tool in the garden. My allotment is still a mess, just like my garden, green house…

Deleting my social media

I haven’t been thinking about this very long but maybe I should delete my apps. Instagram feels dead in the water And although I learn and enjoy TikTok is it too addictive. Would I spend more of my time reading than lusting over books? If I did, I would have to get rid of both.…

Quick Bathroom update

We knew it was going to happen and it did. Our workman was working on the shower and the floor collapsed into the kitchen. Lucky we weren’t in it. I am glad it’s getting fixed properly and hopefully the floor will be around for the next hundred years without any issues.

It’s the simple things that make you happy

It’s true, I can’t wait to be sinking my toes into a beautiful Mauritian beach but honestly I am so happy to when I am home. We recently put in a log burner and we love it. Wood has been expensive however it’s been a mild winter so far, so we haven’t had it on…

8 goals for the new year

I love creating goals and working towards them. Nothing is quite like using the end of the year to focus on yourself and your loved ones so I thought I would share my goals. 1. Work focus Next year I start an apprenticeship alongside my job. My work are paying for it and I really…
