Day 3 of no social media: I fell in love with a £2500 sink

I am in love. The colour. The shape. The brand. But we can’t afford it for a downstairs toilet sink. Even though it’s a work of art. Somethings are just not meant to be. I definitely think I was more focused at work, I achieved a lot today and feel on top of my work…

Day 2 of no social media: bathroom tiles prep

It’s day 2 of social media and it’s been fine, I feel okay. I am still reaching for my phone too much and I keep posting things in my head, which is insane. But it’s good. My evening consisted of laying the floor tiles for the bathroom and realising that I need another panel of…

Day one of no social media

It’s day one. No social media but I probably spent the same amount of time looking at my phone as I would normally which shows that my social media addiction is a terrible habit even when it’s not there. So I am going to see how tomorrow goes. I am hoping to improve, even if…

Deleting my social media

I haven’t been thinking about this very long but maybe I should delete my apps. Instagram feels dead in the water And although I learn and enjoy TikTok is it too addictive. Would I spend more of my time reading than lusting over books? If I did, I would have to get rid of both.…

Downstairs WC plans

Gavin chose the wallpaper, I don’t love it but I do like the tropical leaves. It’s navy gold and colourful, it’s just a bit much. I love everything else. I bought the anthropology mirror last year and now they don’t sell it any more so I am so happy I did. We fell in love…

Quick Bathroom update

We knew it was going to happen and it did. Our workman was working on the shower and the floor collapsed into the kitchen. Lucky we weren’t in it. I am glad it’s getting fixed properly and hopefully the floor will be around for the next hundred years without any issues.

Moment in time

Last holiday I got dual nationality with a Seychelles passport. This time, they have changed the laws so now I can have residency as well. I am so appreciative that I am now a proper Seychellois, just need to learn the language and that will be another tick of my list. I know and appreciate…

Bathroom update…

We started having our bathroom ripped out. It didn’t take long to destroy and now it’s time to redesign a new bathroom. We have Pat who is doing the majority of the work and getting in professionals for the tricky bits but I thought you may like an update. It’s messy, and gross we enjoyed…

Planning the spare bedroom

Planning the spare bedroom has been a fun project until it gets to the buying materials and getting the work done. it’s not so much stressful as a pressure. It’s my pressure as it’s my project. The room has already had its electrics done and is now in a place of mostly plastered with lots…

It’s the simple things that make you happy

It’s true, I can’t wait to be sinking my toes into a beautiful Mauritian beach but honestly I am so happy to when I am home. We recently put in a log burner and we love it. Wood has been expensive however it’s been a mild winter so far, so we haven’t had it on…
